Sarah Gavron

Biography

After an English degree, Sarah worked in documentaries at the BBC. She then studied fiction film directing at the National Film and Television School. "This Little Life" a BBC TV film was her first narrative full length film for which she won a BAFTA and an RTS award. Sarah made her feature film debut in 2007 with an adaptation of Monica Ali's novel "Brick Lane", for which she was nominated for the BAFTA and BIFA for Best Director.  Next Sarah directed a feature documentary "Village at the End of the World", which won the Margaret Mead Award and was nominated for a Greirson Award. 

In 2015, Sarah directed the film Suffragette which premiered at the 2015 Telluride Film Festival and opened the London Film Festival.  Sarah is represented by Casarotto in the UK and WME in the U.S.
